Italy // Day Three

IMG_0702

On Sunday, after a morning of relaxation, we headed for a drive about two hours from Monte di Procida towards the mountains to the town of Sant’Agata de’ Goti.  As you can see in the picture above, one side of the town faces a large drop off into a ravine below, and the houses are built into the side and it’s just the ultimate dreamy Italian village.  Considering it was not only a Sunday, but also time for the mid-afternoon nap, the streets were extra quiet and bare, giving us ample opportunity to walk around every little alleyway and stoney streets.  We enjoyed a leisurely late lunch, in which we had no idea what we were actually ordering, but every course was delicious! After we got back to the house, we translated the dishes and actually figured out what we had eaten.  We ended the day with a drive back home, just as the sun set over the Mediterranean, and a late home-cooked dinner.  Man oh man, did I miss a home cooked meal! Italy was all about the food for me, even the pork chops we had at the house :)
