On Saturday, Natalie and I headed south for a day in the countryside. I’ve heard of the beauty of the English countryside and man, it did not disappoint. After arriving in Eastbourne and grabbing a quick hot chocolate, we took a bus a few minutes down the road to the start of our hike (yes, Mom I hiked) to see the most magical cliffs that I ever did see. Not only was the hike stunning, but once we reached the coast, we both could not stop saying how beautiful it was. The Seven Sisters are stark white chalk cliffs that drop hundreds of feet into the calm hazy blue water, and the view certainly did not get old. After a couple hours hiking (incredibly) steep hills, we reached the visitor center and put some sugar in our bodies before the journey back to the town. The walk from the coast to the bus stop brought us through a quaint and quiet English village, and then back to the Brighton-esque town of Eastbourne. After some roaming and pub food and more sugar, we were off to the train back to London. Our break from city life was certainly not lacking in fresh air, stunning landscapes, and open space. A little nature is humbling and quite good for the soul.
